Statement from Chairman John Currie delivered to Senator Richard Codey on his announcement of retirement from the legislature:
Dear Governor Codey,
It is with mixed emotions that we acknowledge your retirement announcement.
On behalf of the Democratic Party of Passaic County, I want to extend our deepest appreciation for your friendship and public service. Your remarkable political journey, which spans over five decades, is a testament to your commitment to public service, specifically to constituents in towns like Clifton in Passaic County.
Your tenure as Governor was marked by your genuine concern for the people and championing Democratic initiatives that drove positive change. But your legacy goes far beyond your gubernatorial service. You always ensured that the voices of the residents of Passaic County were heard loud and clear in Trenton.
It has been a true privilege to call you a political ally and a dear friend. On a personal note, working alongside someone of your stature and experience has been an honor. Your counsel, friendship, and partnership have been invaluable to me.
Warm regards,
John Currie
Chairman
