Running as independents is not easy, but I am proud to run alongside candidates who have demonstrated their commitment to putting the needs of the people over politics. The people deserve to hear our ideas for this great city and to make their choices accordingly because that is what democracy is all about, a healthy exchange of ideas with the best interests of our constituents at heart.

Housing Projects in Jersey City, Lewis Spears launched his career as an educator with degrees from Rutgers University, New Jersey City University, Harvard University, and leadership experience from Boston to South Africa to Trenton. Having sharpened his leadership and public policy skills and network as a 2019 New Leaders Council Fellow. Lewis launched his bid for mayor of Jersey City because of his firm belief that democracy should always serve the best interests of the people. He is happily married to Dr. Myriam Spears and a proud dad to AJ and Beau.
