Statement from Mayor Small Recognizing LGBTQ+ History Month

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (October 20, 2021) – Today, Mayor Marty Small, Sr. issued the following statement recognizing LGBTQ+ History Month:

“The City of Atlantic City is proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ neighbors as we acknowledge and honor the contributions made by the LGBTQ+ community to our city, our state, and our country. Throughout LGBTQ+ History Month (October 1 – October 31), I encourage Atlantic City residents to join together as we learn about the rich history of the LGBTQ+ movement for social justice and the achievements of its members on our community.

While we have made great strides, the fight for the equality, safety, and protection of our LGTBQ+ neighbors is far from over. We will continue our commitment to diversity by creating and fostering an inclusive, accepting, and equitable environment that values the history and culture of everyone who calls Atlantic City home.”
