Statement Regarding the Arrest
|
| Dear Residents,
The Englewood Cliffs Republican Organization is aware of the arrest of former Councilman Glen A. Luciano, as announced by the Englewood Cliffs Police Department, in connection with multiple incidents of alleged criminal mischief and stalking involving damage to residential windows in Englewood Cliffs. The damage associated with these incidents is estimated to total tens of thousands of dollars. According to the official police release, the investigation included surveillance footage and other physical evidence gathered over a series of incidents. Mr. Luciano was arrested following a motor vehicle stop and has been charged accordingly. As with all matters before the courts, he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The reported target of these incidents is an Englewood Cliffs resident who has served the community for many years as a volunteer appointed official. Individuals who dedicate their time to public service should never be subjected to harassment, intimidation, or criminal behavior. This was not a matter of poor judgment, but a pattern of conduct with real consequences for residents. While Republican officials remain focused on governing responsibly and moving Englewood Cliffs forward, the local Democratic political organization led by Municipal Chairperson Pat Drimones has spent months advancing politically motivated lawsuits, public accusations, and defenses of individuals like Mr. Luciano, all while seeking taxpayer-funded reimbursements tied to those disputes. Residents deserve better. Englewood Cliffs deserves leadership grounded in integrity, accountability, and respect for the community. The Englewood Cliffs Republican Organization remains committed to upholding those values and continuing to move the Borough forward. |
