Statement from Senate President Sweeney on NJ Advance Media’s Story on Governor Murphy’s Son

“When you enter politics, you accept that much of what you do becomes public. But that lack of privacy does not apply to your family. Your children did not run for public office. They have the right to live their lives and make mistakes without being savaged by the media. I am disgusted by what NJ Advance Media wrote concerning Governor Murphy’s son Joshua. This was not about news. This was about creating a salacious story and nothing else. There is much that divides us in politics, but not our respect for one another’s families.”
