Statement from Senator Codey on Governor Murphy’s nomination of Fabiana Pierre-Louis to the New Jersey Supreme Court

LIVINGSTON – Today, Senator Richard J. Codey (D-27) released the following statement praising Governor Murphy for his nomination of Fabiana Pierre-Louis to the New Jersey Supreme Court.

“Ms. Pierre-Louis is an excellent nominee. Her reputation as an attorney of the highest integrity and a person of great character precedes her. Much mention has been made of her being the first Black woman to be nominated to our state’s highest court, a very important milestone in our history. I’d also like to highlight her deep experience working within New Jersey’s halls of Justice, having worked in all three of our US Attorney’s District offices, as well as in private practice. I commend the Governor’s selection of a nominee who will bring a unique perspective to the panel.”
