Statement from Senator Codey on NJ Advance Media Story on Governor Murphy’s Son

“When we choose to enter public life, we accept that we are subject to media scrutiny. We make that choice for ourselves. But our families are private. Our children have a right to grow up, make good and poor choices as children and young adults do without being dragged through the muck. NJ Advance Media’s decision to devote resources to probe into Governor Murphy’s son Josh’s life is wrong. As someone who had two teenage sons while serving as governor, I know these years are difficult enough without the added scrutiny of being the Governor’s kid.”
