Statement of Support for Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce

With algae bloom closing the lake to swimmers, local office holders and candidates are trying to portray themselves as chief protectors of Lake Hopatcong, the state’s largest freshwater lake, going forward.

Statement of Support for Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce

I am pleased to support BettyLou DeCroce for re-election to her current seat in the New Jersey General Assembly. Beginning in 1989, when crime victim survivors, like myself, began the Victims’ Rights movement in New Jersey and up to the present time, BettyLou has stood arm and arm with us in our fight to give recognition to the constitutional rights of crime victims.

As a member of the General Assembly, BettyLou has used the voice of her authority in Trenton to lead the cause for Victims’ Rights in New Jersey. She has given her time, compassion, and passion for personal justice to advance the rights of survivors of homicide, sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and other crimes of violence. BettyLou is a problem solver. Whenever I have asked her to help with a problem involving an innocent victim who had nowhere else to turn, BettyLou’s efforts helped make the difference.

The statewide crime victims organizations, and advocates for whom I speak, continue to need BettyLou DeCroce as a strong voice in the State Legislature. Tomorrow’s victim cannot lose her. The rights of victims in New Jersey, especially female victims of violence, are too important.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Richard D. Pompelio
