Steamfitters Local 475 Endorses Mikie Sherrill for Reelection
West Caldwell, NJ — Steamfitters Local 475, a United Association affiliate, announced today their endorsement of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill for reelection in NJ-11.
“When it comes to standing up for the working men and women of labor, Mikie Sherrill has been an unwavering ally in Congress, and we proudly support her reelection in the 11th District of New Jersey,” said Shaun Sullivan, Steamfitters Local 475 Business Manager. “From securing prevailing wage requirements in the CHIPS Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, to advocating for apprenticeship programs that create opportunities and transition into good-paying union jobs, Mikie continues to get the job done.”

Steamfitters Local 475 installs piping systems that carry hot water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases needed for industrial production or other uses. They install both high and low-pressure systems in industrial and commercial facilities. They lay out, fabricate, and assemble pipes from drawings, blueprints, and specifications. The members of Local 475 also install piping for heating and cooling systems. Pipefitters work both inside and out on new construction projects and also on maintenance and renovation job sites.
Throughout her first two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Sherrill has been a steadfast leader for the working men and women of labor. A member of the House Education and Labor Committee and the newly formed Labor Caucus, she is committed to supporting the next generation of workers in New Jersey and across the country. Congresswoman Sherrill is a cosponsor of the PRO Act and the National Apprenticeship Act in both the 116th and 117th Congresses and was a strong advocate for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the CHIPS and Science Act which will bring good-paying, union work to our state long into the future.
