Marine Mammal Stranding Center Says Recent Whale Death Was Not Caused by Offshore Wind

(ABSECON) Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman released the following statement in response to continued efforts by Senator Vince Polistina and local Republicans to halt all offshore wind development in New Jersey despite the Marine Mammal Stranding Center debunking any effects of offshore wind development:

“First Republicans say windmills cause cancer. Now they say they kill whales. They’re one lie away from turning into George Santos.

“The Marine Mammal Stranding Center has confirmed that the latest whale death was due to striking a vessel and not due to offshore wind development, yet Senator Polistina and local Republicans are still opposing this game-changing industry. Their repeated request for ‘an investigation’ is just a pretext to permanently stop offshore wind development because they want to appease Republican voters who are opposed to wind energy. The same individuals who complain about New Jersey being a terrible state to do business in want to stiff companies that have already invested tens of millions of dollars and plan on creating hundreds of good-paying jobs in South Jersey, not to mention combat climate change.

“If we could harness power from all of Senator Polistina’s hot air on this topic, we wouldn’t need wind turbines.”
