PLEASE READ ON
The Sunlight Policy Center of New Jersey is going to make some news today, but first a quick review of the last few months:
Since launching in May, the Sunlight Policy Center has published a series of factual reports shining a light on the unmatched political power and influence of New Jersey’s most powerful special interest, the NJEA:
- We were the first to expose the NJEA’s millions of dollars of secret funding to dark money political groups.
- We were the first to connect the pieces to explain how, unbeknownst to the majority of New Jersey taxpayers, the NJEA has directly taken in over $2 BILLION in property tax dollars.
- And we were the first to count up ALL the receipts to show that the NJEA has spent over $800 million on New Jersey politics.
In all its reports, the Sunlight Policy Center has presented only the facts – all sourced and footnoted – and its findings remain unchallenged in the public domain.
Now, in a groundbreaking report, sure to raise eyebrows and blood-pressures, more is coming to light….
The Sunlight Policy Center of New Jersey is naming names and providing the state with a first-of-its-kind “Who’s Who” of the organizations that make up the NJEA’s vast and interconnected network of political allies.
As detailed in the report, New Jersey is now crisscrossed by a spider web of special-interest political power and influence – all supported by millions in NJEA spending.
This well-oiled network is made up of non-profit advocacy organizations, political action groups and a multitude of coalitions, all of whom have aided the NJEA by helping to elect the current governor, influence the legislature and courts, bolster get-out-the-vote efforts, and beef up rallies and protests.
Most of all, the NJEA has strategically used the web it created to hide its tracks and fingerprints – and its dominant influence on state politics.
The facts are a resounding wake-up call. Read them for yourself!
Don’t be fooled, New Jersey. It’s time the facts came to light. This report allows New Jersey citizens to review the organizations and the coordination between them, review their ties to the NJEA, review the money behind the network…. and decide for yourself.
