The Trump administration has a documented record of disrespect toward our country’s military veterans.

There was Senator and American hero John McCain.

There was the Gold Star Families.

There was calling those that are willing to sacrifice their own lives to protect our freedoms “suckers” and “losers”.

I could go on.

Now comes Trump-supporter Rosemary Becchi, who uses a burning American flag to attack Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), a veteran, a former Lieutenant in the United States Navy. A woman who took an oath at 18 years old to defend our country. Such an image is an affront to all veterans.

Becchi, who has no military experience.

Becchi has picked the wrong target. Mikie Sherrill is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and was one of the first women eligible for combat. As a Navy helicopter pilot, she flew missions in Europe and the Middle East. After her military service ended, she obtained her law degree from Georgetown University and worked in the U. S. Attorney’s office.

Becchi, who claims Mikie Sherrill puts politics ahead of people, while conveniently ignoring the leader of her own party, who has turned “party over country” into an art form.

Fortunately, the citizens of the 11th District have a capable, dedicated representative in Mikie Sherrill. A representative that is fighting in the trenches every day for her constituents. They don’t need another right-wing demagogue in Congress.
