Sweeney Joins In Groundbreaking for Atlantic City Supermarket

Atlantic City – Senate President Steve Sweeney joined Governor Phil Murphy, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Chair Modia Butler, and Village Super Market, Inc. Executive Vice President Bill Sumas to break ground for a ShopRite supermarket in Atlantic City today, welcoming the addition of a full-service supermarket as a significant step forward for the Atlantic City community that will bring an end to the city’s status as a food desert.
