Sweeney Statement on the Passing of Paul Volcker

Trenton – Senate President Steve Sweeney issued the following statement on the passing of Paul Volcker:

“We have lost one of the most important and consequential economic policy leaders of our time in the passing of Paul Volcker. He was a man of integrity who had the courage to make the best decisions for the right reasons. He put the country’s economic needs first, knowing the impact the policies would have on the lives of everyday Americans. Even after his retirement, Volcker continued to make contributions to public service and the Volcker commission that he founded has served an important leadership role in recommending fiscal reforms.  Paul Volcker was a role model for selfless public service who will be missed.”
