Tammy Holloway Announces Withdrawal from Central Ward City Council Race

Newark, NJ – Tammy Holloway a community leader, District Leader, and lifelong advocate for the Central Ward, today announced her withdrawal as a candidate for the upcoming Newark Central Ward City Council election.
After much prayer, thoughtful consideration, and conversations with family, community leaders, and supporters, Tammy Holloway has decided that the best course of action at this time is to withdraw from the race.
“This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one,” said Tammy Holloway. “My commitment has always been to serve the people of the Central Ward with integrity, vision, and dedication. While I will no longer be a candidate in this election, I remain deeply committed to advancing the needs of our community, supporting opportunities for our youth, advocating for seniors, and working toward a stronger, more unified Newark.”
Tammy Holloway expressed gratitude to the Central Ward Democratic Committee Bishop Andre Speight, Chairman, supporters, volunteers, and neighbors who rallied around her candidacy.
“I am humbled by the encouragement and love I have received throughout this process. This is not the end of my service, but rather a new beginning. I will continue to lead, to support, and to fight for the betterment of our city.”
Though stepping aside from the campaign, Tammy Holloway will remain actively engaged in civic, and community initiatives throughout Newark.
