Tedesco, Caldwell endorse NA locals Balwierczak and Sever

TEDESCO, CALDWELL ENDORSE LOCALS BALWIERCZAK & SEVER.

FIGHTING REPUBLICAN ROLLING TAX ASSESSMENTS, PROTECTING COMMUNITY VALUES ARE AT THE CORE OF THE FIGHT TO BRING BACK RESPONSIBLE TWO-PARTY GOVERNMENT TO NORTH ARLINGTON.

NORTH ARLINGTON – Local Democrats John Balwierczak and Cengiz “Jim” Sever picked up the endorsements of Bergen County Executive James Tedesco (D-Paramus) and Pastor Dale Caldwell, the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor running with Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill, the Democrat for New Jersey Governor.

A former prosecutor, military helicopter pilot and Mom, Sherrill best represents the future for New Jersey taxpayers.

Dale G. Caldwell Is an American education administrator, author, and religious leader who has served as president of Centenary University since 2023. He is the university’s first Black president.

A former president of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey (2001-2024), Caldwell was also the founding president of the College Achieve of Greater Asbury Park Charter School and served as a member of the New Brunswick Board of Education from 1998 to 2024. He is also the pastor of Covenant United Methodist Church located in Plainfield.

James J. Tedesco III has been serving as the Bergen County Executive since 2015 and is currently in his third term—making him only the second person in county history to be elected three times to this role.

Tedesco served as a member of the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders, now known as the Bergen County Board of Commissioners, as well as the former Mayor of Paramus and a member of the Borough Council.

Tedesco has been a Paramus volunteer firefighter for nearly 40 years and twice was selected to serve as the department’s chief. He also served two years on the Board of Directors for the Red Cross of Northern New Jersey.

Tedesco worked for PSE&G, finishing his career as a regional manager. Prior to joining the management ranks, he was a union representative and member of Pipefitters Local 274 and UA Local 855 AFL-CIO and also served as an instructor at the Bergen County Technical schools, EMS/HAZ MAT section teaching HAZ MAT courses.

Both Balwierczak and Sever were grateful for the support of both the County Executive and Caldwell.

“Jim Tedesco represents the best of Bergen County with his commonsense leadership and practical approach to governance. If there is someone to emulate in delivering for voters, Jim Tedesco is the right choice. Reverend Dale Caldwell brings a special and unique skill set combined with educational excellence and proven problem-solving skills that will make him an excellent Lieutenant Governor,” offered both Balwierczak and Sever.

The two Democrats have determined fighting rolling property tax assessments and protecting North Arlington’s values will remain the cornerstone of the campaign.

“The Republican response to our campaign has been pathetic. They are doubling down on unnecessary tax hikes they claim don’t exist. They are losing tax appeals to the tune of hundreds of thousands while rewarding themselves raises to attend a single meeting a month. They just had to settle another court case due to an unnamed library official harassing a former employee costing taxpayer’s $200,000 and voted to pay the Borough Attorney over $350,000 in legal fees over the last 18 months. That individual is also the largest single financial donor to local Republicans for over a decade,” observed the Democrats.

“I’ll continue to question the antics and shenanigans of Del Russo and DeCicco and the wasteful spending they represent. We need someone who offers common sense and will not rubberstamp the frivolous spending of tax dollars North Arlington doesn’t have,” offered Cengiz “Jim” Sever.

“I’ll protect tax dollars, not squander them like Pronti and his puppets.”

“I will stand up to the antics of this all -Republican monopoly,” offered the homeowner, union member and father of three.

The two Democrats also noted “the farce” of senior housing remains.

“How many times and how many elections can you lie to the public about the same broken promise year after year? Senior housing under the Republicans is a fake, a phony and a fraud with no price tag, just political propaganda by Pronti and his puppets too eager to cheer lead for a proposal that lacks specifics, cost or timeline. This is why they say nothing, and this is why these candidates will never, ever debate us,” offered both Sever and Balwierczak.

The Democrats will continue to offer common sense solutions and are happy to see the Republicans copying their ideas.

“A Farmer’s Market makes sense. Parklets and a dog park make sense. People want and demand an improved quality of life based on the amount of property taxes being paid. It’s obscene and Pronti and his puppets are the problem, not the solution.”
