Terry: Washington has to step up for NJ business owners

Dear New Jersey,

As COVID-19 cases are rising in our state, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy will be announcing today tighter restrictions on bars, lounges and restaurants. Beginning this upcoming Thursday, all indoor service will have to end at 10PM.

While we are having some nice weather now, it will change in the upcoming weeks and outdoor service won’t be as nice.

I strongly understand the concerns of the business community in our state who are still struggling now. In reality, we have to ensure our small businesses especially have economic relief from Washington. Regardless of election results, both parties need to work together to provide a economic relief package now.

In addition, we need to provide another stimulus check as it’s needed. For our bartenders, restaurant workers, any many essential workers, they shouldn’t be punished for partisan politics.

We shouldn’t punish the business community but find effective ways to ensure they are making up for loss revenue.

Let’s stay strong New Jersey!

Demetrius Terry
