The Alban Group, a fourth generation commercial construction company, is heading into 2023 with multiple projects and plans for even more.  After more than 30 years under the guidance of the late Tim Zerka,  newly appointed Partner and Executive Vice President Tammy Smith takes over as the face of The Alban Group.

Under her guidance, The Alban Group left its longtime home in Kenilworth and moved to Newark, New Jersey.  “Our new space is more centrally located for our NYC clients,” said Tammy.  “The state-of-the art space really showcases the firm’s ability to build-out unique and complex designs, regardless of any space confinements.”

The Alban Group utilizes in-house personnel, and has expanded their abilities with multiple new hires in Q4 as demand increased.  “Talent is key,” says Tim Shaw, one of Alban’s Project Managers.  Shaw is an engineer by education and works with contractors, clients, and architects to make sure jobs are completed to exceed design specifications.  “We guarantee our clients a very high-level work product, so we are thrilled to have such high-level employees to match,” Shaw continued.

Adrian Zerka, son of the late Tim Zerka, has expanded the Alban Group with a new real estate acquisitions group.  Adrian was raised in real estate and has developed a keen eye for property acquisition, especially in Newark.  “My father taught me everything I know about real estate,” says the younger Zerka, “and I am thrilled to apply the knowledge he passed down to me.” Currently, Zerka and The Alban Group have several multi-unit renovation projects in Newark, set to be complete in Q2 of 2023.

The Alban Group’s leadership has recently been recognized as being exceptional in multiple publications, both in print and online.  Adrian Zerka was recognized in the “Insider NJ” List of Millennials and Tammy Smith made the ROI NJ Real Estate List.  Both were thrilled with their recognitions, and are looking forward to adding more to their list of professional accolades in 2023.
