The Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership at Seton Hall University and Catholic Social Services – Alberta Announce a Memorandum of Understanding to Foster Servant Leadership

New Agreement Allows Venerable Canadian Service Organization to Deepen Knowledge of Servant Leadership

(South Orange, New Jersey – March 22, 2022) The Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership at Seton Hall University (Center) and Catholic Social Services – Alberta (CSS) are proud to announce a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to facilitate the enrollment of CSS employees in the Center’s Foundations of Servant Leadership class. The course is one of three offered in the Greenleaf Academy, an online certification program that provides an opportunity to learn about the principles and practices of servant leadership, including successful strategies used by effective organizations.

Through this partnership, CSS employees will participate in five 90-minute sessions held in three-week intervals. The Academy allows for interactive discussions that lead to engaging in deep reflection on one’s craft, as well as opportunities to create community throughout the experience. Participants also apply the seminal writings of Robert Greenleaf, the founder of the modern movement of servant leadership.
The 2022 agreement represents the first structured MOU between the organizations and builds on a prior relationship involving several CSS social workers’ participation in the Academy in 2020.

“We are delighted to partner with the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership as we endeavor to nurture a workplace experience premised on a humble, authentic and service-oriented leadership model,” stated Dr. Troy Davies, CSS Chief Executive Officer.

“We are extremely excited to support CSS as they deepen the work to inculcate servant leadership throughout the organization’s culture,” stated Reginald Lewis, the Center’s Executive Director.
