February 24, 2023 – NEWARK, NJ – NJ PBS announced that its flagship newscast, NJ Spotlight News with Briana Vannozzi, will be available in podcast format beginning Monday, February 27 on most popular platforms.  The half-hour news program will drop on weekdays at 6 p.m. on podcast channels including  Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and other podcast platforms.  The podcast will contain the same daily, in-depth reporting from the NJ Spotlight News team’s broadcast, only available in more ways to consumers.

The NJ Spotlight News with Briana Vannozzi program will continue its multiple weeknight airings at 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on NJ PBS (check local listings) with additional 24/7 reporting found on the newsroom’s website, NJSpotlightNews.org.

“We are committed to providing the people of New Jersey with the vital news and information affecting their communities, businesses and families,” said Sr. Managing Editor James Kraft. “Importantly, we want to provide our in-depth reporting of uniquely relevant stories all the ways they want to digest it, whether on-air or online or now via a podcast – the only daily Jersey-centric podcast in the state.”

The NJ Spotlight News with Briana Vannozzi podcast is the next in a growing line of such projects from NJ PBS. The network released its first podcast, Hazard NJ, which investigates the impacts of climate change on New Jersey’s Superfund sites, last year.  That was followed by NJ Decides 2022 Election Exchange, which featured conversations with candidates running for Congressional seats last fall. Both were produced by the NJ Spotlight News team. More podcasts are in the planning stages, including a second season of Hazard NJ slated for this fall.
