Three incumbents and Six Newcomers in Lawrence School Board Election Will Face-Off in Upcoming Forum
 
 
 
In this November’s election three incumbents and six challengers are running to fill three open seats on the Lawrence Board of Education. The candidates are scheduled to present their views and answer questions at a virtual Board of Education Candidate Forum on Wednesday September 30 at 7 PM. The Forum is organized by the non-partisan League of Women Voters and will be live streamed on Facebook. The public is invited.
 
To get a preview of each candidate and their positions on Board of Education issues such as covid 19 policies, budget concerns, curriculum and relationships between the Board and the Superintendent go to www.Vote411.org/ballot. The website is organized by the League of Women Voters and includes a brief biography of each candidate.
 
The Forum will be live and available for view on September 30 at https://fb.me/3/3xehFx6Hk. Members of the public can participate by submitting any questions for candidates before and during the Forum at LWVofLawrence@gmail.com. Live questions may not be answered depending on time.
 
The three incumbents are Michele Bowers, Dana Drake and Cathy LeCompte. Those seeking election to the Board for the first time are Heather Camp, Patricia Hendricks Farmer, Gregory G. Johnson, Olufunmilola Ladigbolu, Tabitha Bellamy McKinley and Jasmine Surti.
