THREE MORRIS COUNTY FREEHOLDERS ENDORSE AURA DUNN FOR 25TH ASSEMBLY SEAT

MENDHAM – Morris County Freeholders Kathy DeFillippo of Roxbury, Doug Cabana of Boonton Township, and Steve Shaw of Mountain Lakes officially endorsed Aura Dunn for the 25th District Assembly seat to be filled in Thursday’s special election convention.
The endorsement of the freeholders, all of whom live in the 25th District, comes on the heels of former Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen calling on Morris County Republican committee members to select Aura Dunn to the Assembly post vacated by Anthony M. Bucco, who stepped down in October to take his late father’s State Senate seat.
“I’m humbled and emboldened by the long list of seasoned Republican officials backing my campaign to take the vacant 25th District seat. I have the background, credentials and stamina to carry on the fight for our Republican values at a time when Trenton is consumed by tax-and-spend liberals whose far-left polices are driving families out of our state,” said Dunn.
DeFillippo, Cabana and Shaw cited Dunn’s extensive leadership background, including her service with Frelinghuysen, her time as District Director and Domestic Policy Advisor for the Veterans’ Affairs Committee at the House of Representatives and the time she served as the U.S. Senate’s Appropriations Committee Budget Analyst on Education Policy.
“Aura has the credentials and the drive that will ensure an election victory when the Democrats throw everything they have at us again in an attempt to take legislative seats in our region,” said Shaw.
“Aura is running on controlling taxes and spending, fairness in the broken school funding formula, making our schools safer and ending the opioid epidemic. These are strong principles that will help carry the GOP ticket to victory in the fall,” said DeFillippo.
“I support Aura because she is knowledgeable about the important issues our state is facing today. We must all get behind her selection if we want to keep our Republican slate and our party unbeatable,” said Cabana, who is Morris County’s longest serving freeholder.
Wharton Mayor Bill Chegwidden also announced his endorsement today of Aura Dunn for the Assembly seat, adding to a list of Republican mayors who previously announced their support, including:
Mayor Mary Jane Canose, Bernardsville
Mayor Janet Hoven, Chester Borough
Mayor Marcia Asdal, Chester Township
Mayor Chris Glassner, Mendham Borough
Mayor Matt Murello, Washington Township
Mayor Sam Morris, Mine Hill
