Trenton City Council Approves Sale of City-Owned Property to Manna International Corporation

The Sale Will Aid Manna’s Relocation Plans, Bringing Dozens of Jobs to the City

Trenton N.J. – On Thursday, February 23, 2023, the Trenton City Council approved Ordinance 23-003, authorizing the sale of two City-owned plots of land to Manna International Corporation for $12,000.

“I’m glad we could finally give this plan the go-ahead. This will enable Manna to redevelop the small parcel that will go back on our tax rolls,” said Mayor Reed Gusciora.

Manna International Corporation develops and sells healthcare products, such as nutraeutical supplements and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, with the goal of improving health outcomes. Located on lots 65 and 66 on Bond Street, the currently empty plots of land will become parking areas and a loading dock as Manna cements its relocation to the Capital City.

Once the relocation occurs, Manna hopes to provide 70 new jobs for local Trentonians in its manufacturing facility, which is located adjacent to the plots in a building on Brunswick Avenue. North Ward Councilwoman Jennifer Williams stated, “Manna will bring dozens of good jobs for Trentonians and become an important part of the Trenton business community. More economic development like this is needed so people can work where they already live. This is the start of great things to come for the North Ward and our city.”

The previous Trenton City Council rejected the same plan last August; however, with a new Trenton City Council, the administration received approval to move forward with these plans. At-Large Trenton City Councilwoman Crystal Feliciano affirmed, “It’s opportunities such as this that will help Trenton continue to move in a positive direction, in the areas of economic development and job creation for eligible Trenton residents; the city has stood still long enough. I am happy for the Administration’s efforts to help uplift and rebuild our city and am excited for my Council colleagues and I to be a part of the much-needed change.”

Manna International Corporation President George Varges stated, “We’re excited to finally move forward on this plan. Manna is committed to the development of not just our groundbreaking pharmaceutical products, but to the community of those who will craft them. I look forward to partnering with the Mayor and Trenton’s City Council on these plans as well as future endeavors that will benefit both our business and the local Trenton community.”
