TWO CANDIDATES FROM NEW JERSEY ARE RUNNING FOR INTERNATIONAL TEAMSTER POSITIONS
TWO CANDIDATES FROM NEW JERSEY ARE RUNNING FOR INTERNATIONAL TEAMSTER POSITIONS.
We will be holding a rally in Jersey City NJ which will be hosted by Maria Perez of North Jersey and Marcus King of South Jersey.
This November, 2021 the International Brotherhood of Teamsters will be conducting secret ballot elections for General Executive Board Officers. The current General President, James Hoffa is retiring, which will provide an opportunity for all rank & file Teamsters to choose a new leader.
Among the many accomplishments General President Hoffa has completed during his almost 25 years in office is the most recent victory on pension reform. Passed earlier this year, this law will have a dramatic impact on current and future Teamster retirees, especially those hardest hit in the New Jersey area.
As the International Brother of Teamsters head towards new leadership, Maria Perez, candidate for Eastern Regional Vice President, and Marcus King, candidate for the At-Large Vice President will hosting an event at:
Salumeria Ercolanos,
1072 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ
A fundraising lunch at 1:30 pm
Rally at 3:30 pm outside the restaurant.
Special guests will be Steve Vairma, candidate for General President, Bernadette Kelly At-Large VP (New York), Thomas Gesualdi Eastern Regional VP (New York), and Paul Markwitz, Eastern Regional VP (Rochester, NY).
This election is the first time that there have been two candidates running for International office from New Jersey. Maria, is Secretary-Treasurer for Teamsters Local 97 (Clark), and the President of the National Teamsters Hispanic Caucus and President of the Teamsters NJ chapter. Marcus King is President of Teamsters Local 331 (Atlantic City), and is the Director of the Teamsters Human Rights and Diversity Commission. New Jersey will be proud to have these two candidates represent them in Washington.
