U.S. Sen. Cory Booker Announces New Member of Communications Team

Other members of Senate office comms team have new roles

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) today announced a new hire and other changes in his Senate communications team.

Ahmed Elsayed has joined the Booker office as Press Secretary. Most recently, he served as Rep. Tony Cardenas’ (D-CA) communications director since June 2019 after working on Rep. John Delaney’s presidential campaign. He’s a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick and is a native of North Bergen, New Jersey.

Additionally, several members of Booker’s communications team have new roles:

Jeff Giertz will become Senior Advisor and Communications Director. Giertz first joined Booker’s Senate office as Communications Director in February 2015 and re-joined in the same capacity in February 2020 after working on Booker’s presidential campaign.

Tom Pietrykoski will become Deputy Communications Director. He first joined Booker’s Senate office as New Jersey Press Secretary in October 2015 and re-joined as Press Secretary in February 2020 after also working on Booker’s presidential campaign. Pietrykoski is a graduate of Montclair State University and a native of Bloomfield, New Jersey.

Amahree Archie will become Deputy Press Secretary. She joined the Booker office as staff assistant in July 2019, and became Press Assistant in June 2020.
