| (Atlantic City, NJ) — The United Automobile Workers, Region 9 Southern New Jersey Action Program Council has officially endorsed Senator-select Colin Bell for Senate in New Jersey’s 2nd Legislative District.
Along with members working in the automotive, aerospace, and steel industries, UAW represents more than 12,500 gaming industry workers across the country. Here in Atlantic County, the UAW represents hundreds of workers, including casino table game dealers, slot technicians and more at several Atlantic City casino’s “I am honored to receive the support of the UAW,” said Senator-select Bell. “As state senator, I vow to stand with Atlantic County’s working men and women. Our county and our state owe their success to New Jersey’s organized labor. I will fight to ensure members, like those who make up the UAW in our casinos, have safe working conditions, guaranteed wages, and the right to organize.” The UAW Region 9 covers areas of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The UAW’s endorsement of Senator-select Bell was announced last week.
