UAW Endorses Democrat Laurie Poppe for State Senate in New Jersey’s 16th Legislative District

Princeton – Democrat Laurie Poppe for Senate has been endorsed by the United Automobile Workers, Region 9 Southern New Jersey Action Program Council. Poppe is challenging incumbent Republican State Senator Kip Bateman.
“I am so honored to be endorsed by the UAW,” said Laurie Poppe. “As state senator, I promise to stand with the hard-working men and women who make up the UAW and organized labor across our state. Our economy relies on our working families and they deserve an advocate who will fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to organize. I will always be that advocate.”
The UAW Region 9 covers areas of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and represents workers in the automotive, aerospace, and steel industries.
