Uber Announces Meal Donation to Hospitals in Northern New Jersey

Donation Will Provide 900 Meals for Healthcare Workers at Bergen New Bridge, Hackettstown Medical Center, and Valley Hospital

NEW JERSEY – Uber Eats today announced a plan to donate 900 free meals to healthcare workers at three hospitals in Northern New Jersey. Doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers are on the frontlines of the effort to save lives in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the donation, Uber Eats will provide meals to workers at Bergen New Bridge, Hackettstown Medical Center, and Valley Hospital as a small thank you for their heroic efforts.

“During this trying time, it’s encouraging to see so many businesses in our North Jersey community, including Uber and its employees, supporting our front-line health care workers,” said U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “It’s remarkable to see so many families and businesses in the Fifth District coming together to support those who are putting their lives on the line to keep us safe.“

Workers will receive a promo code they can use to receive a free meal up to $25 on the Uber Eats app or through the Uber Eats website (https://www.ubereats.com/). The donation is part of Uber’s larger commitment to provide 10 million rides and food deliveries to healthcare workers, seniors, and people in need. It comes on top of a $350,000 donation to the state of New Jersey to provide meals to healthcare workers statewide.
