Republican U.S. Senate frontrunner Dr. Rik Mehta today announced the unanimous endorsement of all Union County Republican Mayors. Mehta’s campaign has already received the endorsement of the Union County Republican Committee to share the ticket with President Trump and local Republican leaders throughout the County.
The endorsement includes Mayor Al Morgan of New Providence, Mayor Al Smith of Scotch Plains, Mayor Paul Mirabelli of Mountainside and Mayor Sal Bonaccorso of Clark.
“I want to thank the Republican Mayors of Union County for their unanimous support. I am proud to have their endorsement and to share the Union County Republican line with them and President Trump as the official endorsed GOP candidate. I look forward to working together as I take on Cory Booker in the fall.”
Rik Mehta is the presumptive Republican candidate to face Cory Booker in the fall and has won the GOP County organizational lines to share the ticket with President Trump in 17 out 21 counties, including, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Salem, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren County.
