UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL AND RUTGERS PARTNER WITH THE COLLEGE OF AMERICAN PATHOLOGISTS FOUNDATION FOR A SEE, TEST & TREAT CANCER SCREENING EVENT
NEWARK, N.J. – Backed by a grant from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation, University Hospital, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey at University Hospital will partner for a See, Test & Treat cancer screening program on Wednesday, May 4 at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, 205 South Orange Avenue in Newark. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and appointments are required. Parking will be free for those attending the event.
The program serves area uninsured and underinsured women, providing patients free breast and cervical cancer screenings with same-day results. The event will also act as a community health fair, providing other services and education while tying patients into accessible health systems directly within the community.
“This day affirms our institution’s mission of community service and engagement,” said Demali Campbell, MD, an assistant professor of professional practice at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and a practicing physician at University Hospital. “There are many who have not been screened for cancers and this screening event helps us reach those people.”
