Farmingdale – Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) CEO Bob Briant, Jr., issued the following statement today regarding the Portal Bridge announcement:

“The Portal Bridge has been in desperate need of replacement for years and the recent federal funding announcement means this critical project can finally advance. Governor Murphy deserves a great deal of credit for securing funding for this vital transit link. Construction of a new Portal Bridge will boost our economy by creating thousands of living wage construction jobs, and once complete, will bring much-needed relief for North Jersey commuters. The advancement of this project is a win-win for our economy and our commuters.”
