UTCA STATEMENT ON ADDITIONAL $425 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDING HEADED TO NEW JERSEY

Farmingdale – Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) Executive Director Dave Rible released the following statement today regarding the announcement that New Jersey will receive an additional $425 million from the Federal Highway Administration for transportation projects:

“We commend Governor Murphy, Commissioner Gutierrez-Scaccetti, President Corbett and our federal representatives for securing this critical transportation funding. The projects that will utilize this funding, including NJ TRANSIT infrastructure, bridges and roadways, are absolutely critical to ensuring New Jersey has the high-quality transportation network that is vital to our economic growth and quality of life.

“Moreover, the use of federal dollars for these projects helps ensure the costs do not fall solely on the backs of New Jersey taxpayers and helps the state stretch its transportation funding budget.

“Our members are pleased to see more critically needed infrastructure funding allocated to New Jersey and they are ready to get to work on these important projects.”
