UTCA STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT BIDEN’S INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN
Farmingdale – Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) CEO Robert Briant, Jr., issued the following statement today regarding President Biden’s infrastructure plan:
“While we are still awaiting the specific details, President Biden’s plan jumpstarts an important conversation about the scope of investment we need to shore up our infrastructure and keep America competitive.
“Advancing Gateway should be a priority that will help ease congestion on our mass transit systems, increase safety through rehabilitation of the existing tunnels, and create thousands of jobs at a time where work is desperately needed. Fixing the miles and miles of lead-laden and leaking water infrastructure will help ensure all Americans have safe drinking water and will save millions of dollars in the long run. And prioritizing repairs to our roads and bridges will build upon the existing progress we already see in New Jersey.
“Infrastructure improvements are widely recognized as one of the smartest, most efficient ways we can jumpstart our economy. That is why it is critical now that leaders from both sides of the aisle come together and determine the best way to move forward while spending tax dollars wisely.”
