“For many families and individuals in New Jersey, adult day programs for individuals with developmental disabilities are a vital resource. Day programs offer individuals opportunities for personal growth and independence, they also offer the care that many need to lead healthy and successful lives. Throughout the COVID-19 emergency, the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities have often been put on the back burner. Now, as the State continues to open and with the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines, it is critical that the State of New Jersey prioritize fully re-opening day programs.”
