As he navigates caring for his father, Senator Kim commits to answering the question also impacting millions of Americans: “Why is it so hard to get care in this country?”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a newly released video, Senator Andy Kim (D-N.J.) opened up about his personal experiences since first learning of his dad's Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Today’s video is the beginning of an ongoing conversation between Senator Kim and the American people as he confronts his personal battles as a caregiver and channels his family’s experience into his service in Congress to be a voice and fighter for the millions facing similar challenges.

Senator Kim is embarking on a journey to answer the questions he and so many others are facing when it comes to providing care for loved ones, and help build a care movement to implement solutions that will help the millions affected by debilitating conditions and support the millions more who struggle with caregiving for their loved ones and others in need.

“I’m not just a son or father. I’m not just a caregiver. I’m privileged to be a United States Senator. But even in that position, I struggle with questions about Medicare and Medicaid, about health care, about support. If I’m struggling with that, what are others facing?...

“If I’m going to go through hell with him and my family, I’m going to try and help as many people as I can along the way.”
