West Ridge PTO President Responds to Kuiters-Misley Statement

It has come to our attention that two Park Ridge BOE candidates, Rich Kuiters and Holly Misley, recently published an article on Insider NJ entitled “Rich Kuiters and Holly Misley Blast Park Ridge BOE Decision.”
To clarify, the West Ridge PTO has never spoken with either candidate about this matter. While it is true that the PTO requested $25,000 from the BOE this summer to support our efforts to build a much-needed playground for the 100+ students who currently do not have a proper space to play at recess, the request was simply removed from the consent agenda at the August BOE meeting. It has not been denied, and we remain in active, ongoing discussions with the BOE. We would like to take the time to commend the BOE for taking their time for being fiscally responsible and hope we can continue to work together for the children.
We are committed to transparency and will continue to update our community as this process moves forward. For clarity and accuracy, any questions or requests for information should be directed to me, as PTO president. Please know that any statements made outside of the PTO leadership do not represent our organization or the facts of this matter.
Sincerely,
Caley Svensson
WEST RIDGE PTO PRESIDENT
