Young Farmer Jack DeGroot Submits Petition for Sussex County Commissioner
Sussex County, New Jersey – Jack DeGroot, a 24-year-old farmer and graduate student from Wantage, has submitted his petition into the Sussex County Clerk’s Office for Sussex County Commissioner in the upcoming Republican Primary on June 6th.
DeGroot grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Wantage and has gained a deep understanding of the concerns of Sussex County residents through his work at his produce stand. He is committed to tackling issues such as growth and development, community-government disconnect, and preserving Sussex County’s agricultural heritage. If elected as the next Sussex County Commissioner, he plans to protect farmland, promote the local agriculture industry, develop a balanced budget, and be the voice of Sussex County agriculture to the rest of the state.
“I am deeply committed to preserving our rich agricultural heritage and believe that supporting our local agriculture industry is crucial,” said DeGroot. “When elected as the next Sussex County Commissioner, I will advise, promote, and provide assurance that we will maintain and protect our farmland and be the voice of Sussex County agriculture to the rest of the state.”
DeGroot completed his high school education at High Point Regional High School in 2017, and went on to attain a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics and Finance from Marywood University. Currently, he is finishing a Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of New Hampshire. In addition to his academic qualifications, he has practical experience working in state government as an intern for the office of New Hampshire Governor Christopher T. Sununu, conducting policy research, analyzing pending legislation, and acquiring budgeting strategies from one of the most fiscally responsible governors in the nation.
“As a leader for the next generation of Republicans in our community, I want to assure previous generations that Sussex County will be in good hands, and ensure that future generations will have the same opportunities I had growing up,” said DeGroot. “By unifying all generations who call this wonderful place home, we can work towards a more efficient and effective county government, delivering the best possible services to the people of Sussex County.”
DeGroot invites residents of Sussex County to contact him by email at degrootforcountycommissioner@gmail.com or by phone at 862-354-1372. For more information on Jack DeGroot and his campaign for Sussex County Commissioner, visit his campaign website at https://www.jackdegrootforcommissioner.com/.
