Zwicker Named Constitutional Officers Association of New Jersey Legislator of the Year

Kingston, NJ — 16th Legislative District Senate candidate Assemblyman Andrew
Zwicker was given the Legislator of the Year award yesterday by the Constitutional
Officers Association of New Jersey.

“I am grateful to have received this recognition from COANJ,” said Assemblyman
Zwicker (D-South Brunswick). “Constitutional officers have dedicated themselves to
keeping our elections fair and open, protecting our communities, and advocating for
families during some of their most challenging times. Receiving their recognition for my
legislative efforts as we held a successful election during a pandemic, allowed for early
voting by machine for the first time in NJ, and to make sure that voters had a chance to
correct any errors in their mail-in ballots is an honor.”

In addition to legislation on early voting and vote-by-mail ballots, Zwicker has
worked together with constitutional officers to author significant pieces of legislation that
has streamlined public access to government data. Zwicker also worked with COANJ
while creating important legislation to increase transparency and communication in
political campaigns by making candidates for office publicly display their contact
information.

COANJ is an association whose members include clerks, registers, sheriffs and
surrogates from throughout New Jersey.
