| TRENTON – Governor Mikie Sherrill today signed Executive Order No. 20, ordering U.S. and New Jersey flags to fly at half-staff on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in recognition and mourning of Representative Frank Joseph Guarini, Jr. Representative Guarini passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the age of 101. A decorated World War II Navy veteran, former New Jersey State Senator, and seven-term member of the House of Representatives, Representative Guarini devoted his life to public service.
“Frank Guarini dedicated more than a lifetime to serving New Jersey and our country with distinction in uniform, in the State Senate, in Congress, and through his extraordinary philanthropic work,” said Governor Sherrill. “His leadership helped shape our state and strengthen our nation.
