HUDSON REGIONAL HEALTH ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP IN HOBOKEN AND BAYONNE
Hudson Regional Health (HRH) today announced leadership appointments at Hoboken University Hospital and Bayonne University Hospital, promoting Dr. Michael Hochberg to Chief Hospital Executive in Hoboken after successfully serving as Chief Hospital Executive in Bayonne, and naming Dr. Vijayant Singh as Chief Hospital Executive in Bayonne. This announcement marks a significant step in HRH’s continued commitment to further strengthening its healthcare network across Hudson County.

Dr. Singh is a board-certified Internist, a fellow of ACHE and a certified Physician Executive with an MBA in Healthcare Management. He has been a career-long member of the Hudson County healthcare community, beginning with his years in training at RWJ Barnabas Health-Jersey City Medical Center. He then joined CarePoint Health and rose through various leadership roles, driving operational excellence, improving patient outcomes, and fostering strategic growth within the hospital system. In his latest role, he was Hudson Regional Hospital's Chief Clinical Officer and Vice President of Network Development and was an integral part of the senior leadership team.
Dr. Hochberg joined HRH-Bayonne in early 2025 as Chief Hospital Executive and under his leadership, Bayonne University Hospital underwent a dramatic revival and improvement in patient experience scores, reduced wait times for the Emergency Department, an increase in the average daily census, and hundreds of new credentialed physicians and nurses. Prior to his joining Hudson Regional Health, Dr. Hochberg served as Chief Operations and Integration Officer at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System in New Brunswick, NJ, helping the System achieve numerous accolades, while growing their operating margin, building a new Emergency Department and multiple outpatient facilities and expanding their primary care and service lines. He also served as Senior Executive Vice President Chief Clinical Officer at the JPS Health Network, a quaternary care, academic public healthcare system in Fort Worth, and Corporate Associate Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer for Steward Health Care, a then 40 hospital system across 9 states with a 2,000 physician medical group.
Dr. Hochberg earned his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Buffalo, trained in Emergency Medicine at Jacobi/Montefiore in the Bronx, and completed his MBA from the University of Massachusetts and his Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) degree from Johns Hopkins University. Lastly, Dr. Hochberg achieved and has an academic appointment as a Full Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Anne Burnett School of Medicine at TCU.
