John Bartlett Releases First Ad in Democratic Primary for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District

In the Democratic primary special election for Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill’s 11th District Congressional seat, John Bartlett released his first ad. Titled “Public Service Over Self Service,” the six-figure investment in digital advertising focuses on County Commissioner Bartlett’s record of fighting against Trump in the Supreme Court and his support of a public healthcare option.
The 30-second ad highlights Bartlett’s dedication to public service, his record of standing up to Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans in court and winning, and his support of a public healthcare option to combat the spiralling cost of health care in the United States.
“If you want to know what to expect from an elected official, look at their record of results,” said Bartlett. “I have always been about public service over self-service, and I have a long record of fighting and winning on today’s crucial issues. I will continue to do so in Congress.”
Script:
Bartlett: In Jersey, there’s no self-service at the pump…
Gas station attendant: I’ll take that…
Bartlett: But in Jersey politics? There’s plenty of it…
Backroom deals. Cashing in. Looking out for themselves.
That’s never been me.
I’m John Bartlett. And I believe in public service…not self service.
It’s why I’ve taken on Donald Trump and Republicans in Court to protect our basic rights, and won.
And why I support a public healthcare option to protect affordability and keep insurance companies honest.
I’m not here for myself. I’m here to fight for you.
About John Bartlett
John Bartlett is running for Congress to put public service over self-service by making life more affordable for New Jersey families, and defending democracy from Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans. John has been fighting and winning these fights for years, beating Donald Trump and Republicans in court to protect vulnerable Americans and our right to vote. As a Passaic County Commissioner, John has a proven record protecting affordability: nine straight years of lowering the property tax rate and balancing budgets while improving services, building new parks and public schools, and bringing more than $960 million in federal transportation funding into the 11th District to grow our region’s economy and make commutes safer and easier. John learned a lifelong dedication to service from his father, a country pediatrician, and he is ready to bring this fight for our shared values to Washington.
A graduate of Brown University and Harvard Law School who also studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a Raoul Wallenberg Scholar, he lives in Wayne with his wife, Dr. Khyati Joshi, and their college-age son.
