Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison Endorses Analilia Mejia For Congress
GLEN RIDGE, NJ — Today, Analilia Mejia — a longtime grassroots organizer, former Director of the New Jersey Working Families Party, and candidate Congress in NJ-11 — announced the endorsement of former congressman, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison.
Ellison, the first Muslim American ever elected to Congress, cited Analilia’s strong progressive record in New Jersey and her work with Senator Bernie Sanders, who Ellison stumped for in 2016 and 2020.
“Analilia Mejia is a force to be reckoned with, and I know she will be a powerful progressive voice in Congress,” said Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. “She never backs down from her principles, so you can trust her to fight for policies like universal childcare, universal healthcare, and to hold Trump accountable for his corruption. We need more representatives like Analilia. If we did, Washington might actually work for working people.”
“I’ve known Keith for years and consider him a good friend. He’s a deeply conscientious leader whose soul is with the people he serves,” said Analilia Mejia. “In Congress, he stood up against the Iraq War when it wasn’t popular to do so, and as Attorney General, he delivered justice for George Floyd. I’m proud to have fought alongside Keith over the years, and I’m even prouder today to earn his endorsement.”
The special primary election is on February 5, 2025.
