NJEA members deliver 112,000 petition signatures calling for pension justice

Urge legislators and governor to eliminate tiered system to strengthen schools

Trenton – More than 100 NJEA members gathered in Trenton today to deliver boxes of signed petitions to Gov. Phil Murphy, Senate President Nicholas Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin calling on them to support, pass and sign A5158/S3998 and A5160/S3997 during the current legislative session. Those bills would collapse the current tiers in TPAF and PERS and return all members of those plans to Tier 1. More than 112,000 NJEA members personally signed those petitions. Read more >>
