The NEA Fund for Children and Public Education, which makes endorsements in federal elections, has endorsed two additional candidates for New Jersey’s congressional delegation.
Based on NJEA’s recommendation, the NEA PAC endorsed Zack Mullock for Congressional District 2 and Rebecca Bennett for Congressional District 7 because these two races are part of a critical strategy to take back control of Congress from President Trump.
NJEA officers, President Steve Beatty, Vice President Petal Robertson and Secretary-Treasurer Tina Dare issued this statement:
“NJEA is proud to recommend these advocates and allies for endorsement because they have proven they share our values and know how to get things done in Washington. The gutting of the U.S. Department of Education and the harmful financial impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act on our public schools prove that now, more than ever, we need members of Congress to be staunch supporters of children, educators and public schools. These candidates have pledged to fight for hard-working families because they know that when our families and communities work together, we create strong schools and successful students.
“When NJEA endorses candidates, they know our endorsement comes with a pledge to do the work to help them win. Our members are eager to organize, volunteer and vote so that these candidates and others who earn our endorsement will win next November.”
These candidates join a list of early endorsed incumbents who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the issues that matter most to NJEA and NEA members. The NEA PAC’s early endorsement, also known as a “friendly endorsement,” is given to incumbent candidates who have previously been endorsed and whose strong records reflect the priorities and values of NJEA and NEA. Members of NJEA PAC will continue screening candidates over the next several weeks.
