Progressives Notch an Early Climate Change Win at San Fran DNC Meeting (but Committee as a Whole Still to Go)

SAN FRANCISCO – By a vote of 14-11, the Resolutions and Bylaws committee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) today voted in favor of enabling a climate change-only debate forum for the 2020  Democratic candidates for president.

The allies of DNC Chairman Tom Perez favored – but failed to advance – a resolution that allowed for a climate-change “town hall” but not a full-fledged debate.

In an animated mood, progressive activists prevailed on the resolutions and bylaws committee today in advance of a full vote on the issue on Saturday by DNC members.
