Report: Gilbert and Alonso Fired

Milwaukee-based news reporter Derrick Rose tonight tweeted that party officials have fired Liz Gilbert and Adam Alonso from the Democratic National Convention Host Committee.

Gilbert is the former executive director of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, and Alonso is also a key poliitcal ally of Governor Phil Murphy.

Tonight’s news followed last night’s developments when the two top officials overseeing Milwaukee’s host committee for the 2020 Democratic National Convention – Alonso and Gilbert – mutually took to the sidelines “amid allegations of a toxic work culture, according to a report in The Journal Sentinal.”

According to the report:

“In a letter to staff obtained by the Journal Sentinel, the board said it had retained an attorney to investigate ‘concerns about the work environment’ for the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee.

“During the investigation, Liz Gilbert, president of the host committee, will not be in the office and ‘will not have direct contact with staff,’ the letter says. Adam Alonso, the chief of staff for the group, has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the probe.”

The executive director of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee subsequently sent a communique on Monday night indicating that the organization was no longer affiliated with Alonso or his firm.

  1. The biased media keeps letting Phony Phil do his Sgt. Schultz routine on all of the sexual abuse that happens under his watch by his closest advisors. It’s disgraceful. You would be calling on a Republican to resign. If you don’t stop the culture of abuse, that means you condone it. You would think Gov. Tammy would say something. I guess if you are a Democrat, the ends justify the means. Disgusting.
