Richter Hires Tom Bonfonti to Manage CD3 Primary Campaign

David Richter, Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Third Congressional district, announced today that he has hired seasoned campaign operative Tom Bonfonti to serve as his Campaign Manager.

Bonforti has CD3 roots, serving previously as the Executive Director for the Ocean County GOP and a member of former Third District Congressman Tom MacArthur’s political team during his first two campaigns, serving as Political Director for his successful 2016 campaign. He is a lifelong resident of the Third District having been born and raised in Waretown before settling in Lacey with his wife, Caitlin, and young daughter, Madison.

“I’d like to thank David for giving me an opportunity to serve the residents of the Third District. Andy Kim is a radical liberal with beliefs that the majority of the Third District does not agree with. We need a principled conservative, who is not afraid to support our President. That candidate is David Richter,” said Bonfonti. He added, “I’d also like to thank Ocean County GOP Chairman Frank Holman for having given me the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director of the Ocean County GOP. While I am saddened to be leaving a place that I have called home for the last two and a half years, I’m extremely proud of the work we have accomplished. I have no doubt that Ocean County will deliver for David Richter and help us defeat Andy Kim in November.”

“I’m excited to add Tom to our team,” said Richter. “Together with Bill Stepien, we are putting together the best team possible to beat the Democrats in November.”

Richter recently transitioned his GOP primary candidacy from CD2 (where President Trump and establishment party leaders endorsed GOP incumbent Rep. Van Drew) to the CD3 primary, which includes candidates Kate Gibbs, John Novak, and Tony Porto, vying for the nomination to take on freshman Democratic Rep. Andy Kim in November.
