Sauickie Wins LD12 Seat in Special Election

Jackson Council Vice President Alex Sauickie prevailed tonight in a special election for the seat of the late Assemblyman Ronald Dancer.

It wasn’t close, in what one source described as a rather embarrassing loss for Ocean County Republican Chairman George Gilmore.

Sauickie won with 106 votes, defeating Plumstead Township Committeeman Dominick Cuozzo, who received 44 votes.

A 20-year veteran of the New Jersey Legislature, Assemblyman Ron Dancer (R-12) died last month at the age of 73.
