A week ago, Alex Mendez received the equivalent of a get-out-of-jail free card from a judge who tossed his election fraud case.

But Mendez has a long way to go in the fundraising sweepstakes as he runs citywide against incumbent Mayor Andre Sayegh in the May 12th contest.

According to the candidates' 29-day pre-election reports, Sayegh has a closing balance of $242,735, compared to $15,458 for Mendez.
