The results tonight from Sayreville:

R – Donna Roberts 5762 (incumbent)
R – Dan Balka 5652
D – Michelle 5045 (incumbent)
D – Damon 4832

Roberts and Balka won, the two Republicans.

Two of the six council seats were up.

The Republicans take control of the Borough Council with four Republicans and two Democrats and a directly elected Democratic mayor.

At least two of the Republicans can and have worked with the Democratic mayor and at least one of the Republicans have worked with the former Democratic majority and the disgraced former Democratic chairman.
